Less than a year ago we lost Elisabeth Sladen. At that time, only six of the twelve episodes for the fifth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures were shot. Fortunately, we got to see those six episodes starting last October on the CBBC. In this latest episode of Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi we review this abbreviated and final series. Join Dave, Graeme, and myself as we bid farewall to the series.

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan Win at the British National Television Awards

Both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan won thier catagories at the NTA or National Television Awards.
Matt won for best for Best Performance Male Drama, and Karen for Best performance Female Drama.
Doctor Who was nominated for the Best Drama catagory but lost out to Downton Abbey, which stars Hugh Bonniville. Who most who fans will remember as the Captain from the Series 6 Episode "Curse of the Black Spot"
On the red carpet it seemed like Matt has caught Moffeteitis in that he gave two different accounts of how long he was going to stay as the Doctor. The Youtube clip are underneath, you can decide fro yourself.

This is just a quick heads up to let you know that a new episode of DW Podshock and Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi have been recorded and are both currently in post production now. They should be arriving in your feeds later in the week.
Included in the upcoming Podshock episode is a review of the classic Jon Pertwee DVD Doctor Who and the Silurians and the conclusion of the Frazer Hines interview.
We review series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures in the upcoming Hitchhiker's Guide to British Sci-Fi.

Russell T Davies to Launch New CBBC Sci-Fi Series, Aliens Vs Wizards

Former Doctor Who executive producer and lead writer Russell T Davies who was also responsible for two Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures will now be spearheading a new series on CBBC, Aliens Vs Wizards.
This new series consisting of 12 half-hour episodes is being created with Phil Ford who Davies worked with on Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures series. It is set to debut in autumn of this year on CBBC. It is being produced by BBC Wales in association with FrementleMedia.

Often at the end of each year society looks back at those we have lost in the past year as a memorial. That is what this video does in regards to Doctor Who. This year being especially tough as we lost two performers that played major key companion roles in the series, but every passing is sad.

Torchwood's Nana Visitor joins half a dozen Doctor Who related guests at Icon 31

Nana Visitor played Olivia Colasanto in Torchwood: Miracle Day, but is known best for portraying Kira Nerys in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for seven years. She joins Sylvester McCoy, Daphne Ashbrook, Frazer Hines, Colin Spaull, and Steve Gostelow at Icon 31 this March.
Jeremy Bulloch is also scheduled to attend. Known most famously for portraying Boba Fett in the Star Wars saga, he also guest stars in the William Hartnell story "The Space Museum" and Jon Pertwee's "The Time Warrior".
Icon 31 will be held March 30, 31, April 1st 2012 at the State University of New York at Stonybrook. Details can be found at www.iconsf.org.
